Helping Learners with confidence to progress and succeed

As a dyslexia and SpLD specialist teacher, I am dedicated to identifying individual learning profiles and providing tailored, evidence-based support to help students overcome barries and reach their full potenital, whatever your age.  

I offer personalised tuition for children who are home educated and those receiving EOTAS, providing flexible, supportive learning tailored to each child's needs and pace. 

Reading is at the heart of learning and I offer a wide range of books to suit every reader.  From early readers to advanced texts, my collection includies all reading levels, dyslexic friendly and  Hi-Lo books for older learners who need accessible content.

Reading tuition focuses on key skills such as reading for meaning, comprehension, fluency and enjoyment.  I support learners in understanding texts, building vocabulary, and developing smooth, confident reading.  

By using engaging materials, I also aim to foster a love of reading.  

I offer personalised support to help children and young people develop strong writing skills, improve spelling accuracy, and gain confidence in grammar.  

Sessions are tailored to each learner's needs using structured, evidence-based strategies to support lasting progress.  

Writing activities are always for a purpose and I try and use the learners interests to make writing meaningful.

Dyslexic children often find they have co-occuring difficulties with Maths.  At Think Differently I Support learners in Maths to build strong foundations in number, calculation and problem-solving skills, developing confidence through clear explanatins, practical strategies and personalised guidance.

I teach Maths using a structured, step-by-step apporach-starting with concrete hands-on resources and games to build understanding, followed by pictorial representations to reinforce concepts visually, and finally progressing to abstract methods using symbols and numbers. 

Phonics is the relationship between sounds (phonemes and their written symbols) and is one strategy in learning to read.

There are 44 phonemes in the English language, and many of these sounds can be represented by different combinations of letters.  This can make learning to read and spell challenging, as it's not always clear which letter pattern to use for each sound.

I teach phonics in a multisensory and engaing way, using movement, music, visuals and hands-on-activites to bring the sounds and letters to life, making them memorable.

I also offer tutoring for the 11 Plus exam, helping students prepare with targeted practice in verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, Maths and English.

I support learners in preparing for the KS1 and KS2 SATs, the Phonics Screening Check, and the Times Tables Test with tailored lessons that build skills, confidence and test readiness..

I offer both online and face-to-face tuition to provide flexible learning options that suit each student's needs and schedule. Whether you prefer the convenience of learning from home or the more personal experience of in-person sessios, I tailor my teaching approach to ensure effective understanding and progress.  Both formats maintain the same high-quality support and personalised attention.
